1. Windows Logo + Print Screen (PrtSc)

To take a screenshot in Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, press Windows Logo+Print Screen (PrtSc) simultaneously on your computer keyboard.

You will immediately see the screen flashing for a moment. This is a sign that the screenshot has been taken.

2. Print the screen

Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 users can use this method. Press the Print Screen button.

After pressing this button, you take a screenshot, but it is stored in RAM. So you take it and copy the screenshot.

In order to view it, you have to paste the screenshot wherever you want, like Microsoft Word or Paint or whatever.


3. Alt + print screen

The method is the same as before. Press Alt+Print Screen and paste the captured screenshot. However, this method only takes a screenshot of the active window. You can't take screenshots of the taskbar and stuff.


4. Knife

Windows has a built-in application called Snipping Tool. This program is useful for taking screenshots and annotating them.

To find this program, search for Cortana in Windows 10 (read our tutorial on using Cortana) or open Start and type "snipping tool".


5. PikPick
