Microsoft launches Surface Laptop Go, lighter and cheaper

Microsoft officially introduced its newest laptop called Surface Laptop Go.

This laptop is considered as the lightest Surface laptop from Microsoft. Surface Laptop Go also offers premium specifications at an affordable price. The Surface Laptop Go comes with a 12.4-inch screen, which is smaller than the Surface Book 3 which has a 13.5-inch screen. Surface Go screen resolution is 1536 x 1024 pixels and the aspect ratio is 3:2.

To aid performance, the Surface Laptop Go features a 10th-generation quad-core Intel i5-1035G1 processor paired with dual 4GB/8GB RAM options and 64GB eMMC storage or 128GB/256GB SSD. On the front of the screen there is a webcam with HD 720p resolution and a pair of microphones with high-quality sound. Microsoft has also integrated a fingerprint module into the power button to allow users to navigate to the Windows home page using the fingerprint sensor. At 1.1 kg, the Surface Laptop Go is lighter than other brands such as the Apple MacBook Air, Chromebook, or other Windows laptops.

This laptop also supports the fast charging feature which is claimed to be able to charge the battery up to 80% in just 60 minutes. Additionally, the Surface Laptop Go's battery is said to last up to 13 hours on a single charge. Other features of the Surface Laptop Go include built-in Wi-Fi 6, USB Type-C port, USB Type-A port, Bluetooth 5.0, charging port and 3.5mm audio jack. There are three Surface Laptop Go color options to choose from, namely blue, gold and silver.

The new Surface Laptop Go will be available in the US on October 13.
